Now Hiring Umpires
No experience necessary. Training available.
Officiating provides a terrific outlet for those who care about youth sports but may not have the time to devote to a full-time coaching position. While the job can be rewarding and even provide extra income, it takes a special person to excel in these positions. Officials must make quick decisions, resolve conflicts, and handle pressure.
Umpire Duties & Responsibilities
As part of their regular duties and tasks, a youth sports official/umpire may perform some or all of the following:
1. Officiate and control games, events, and competitions in a confident, appropriate manner.
2. Ensure all participants understand and comply with game rules and assess penalties when needed.
3. Make game calls with confidence and knowledge of league rules.
4. Keep track of event start times, and start or stop play as necessary.
5.Make sure the teams have the appropriate equipment and inspect both players and equipment for any issues.
All Umpires will be required to complete the Baseball USA Umpire Certification Course and to complete a background check.
